My Hometown Initiative (MHI) is a program in West Valley City that brings together city services, local churches, partner organizations and residents to work together for three main purposes:
Bring new life and energy to City neighborhoods by improving the housing and the appearance of the neighborhood.
Offer opportunities for the community’s families to advance and prosper.
Make the community a place where people will want to invest their time, money, and efforts.
The projects will be determined about a month before the day of service.
This event page will be updated with that information once received.
We will let you know as soon as we have the specifics.
We will be looking for one or two project leads and 80-100 volunteers total.
Our experience with these events over the last few years is that the need is real, the people love and appreciate the help, and there is a place for everyone to serve (youth, men, women, dogs, neighbors, cousins...) - no special skills required.
Volunteers should be age 14+. Adult Supervision is required for Youth Groups.
Volunteers will need to bring their own equipment, gloves, face masks, sunscreen, and water bottles.
