Stake Labor Day Activity, Monday, September 4
About this event
Join us in a wonderful Stake Labor Day Service Project on Monday, September 4, 11AM – 3PM at the Kankakee River State Park! As we did last year, we will be packaging care boxes for Mattea's Joy. Mattea's Joy provides care, connection, and community for families navigating the challenges of having a hospitalized child... and reminding them that they're not alone. Last year we were able to build over 350 individual snack boxes, and hope to beat this number this year!
In advance of the activity, we are inviting everyone to donate regular sized cans of flavored sparkling water (i.e.LaCroix, Bubly, Spindrift). These can be brought to the Church through Sunday, September 3rd, or you can bring them to any member of the Ward Council who can help get them collected and delivered on September 4.
I know of the prayers of parents, children and siblings when they have a member of the family hospitalized. I am confident that the Lord hears and answers the prayers of His children, but that it is usually through another person that the answer comes. Let's all be the answer to this great need as families struggle with the challenge of having hospitalized children.
