Pornography Treatment Group

Host: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Family Services, Colton, CA

Group Facilitators: Kodie Sibbett, APCC and Garrit Jacobson, LCSW

When: Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 pm, August 16, 2023- October 25, 2023

Who: Men 18 or older who are ready to change their relationship with pornography

Where: Confidential online Zoom meeting

What: This is a professionally run treatment group. Individuals who use pornography to cope with difficult emotions often experience emotional, spiritual, and relational consequences. In a group setting, they can find fellowship with those who have had similar challenges which facilitates healing.

Group Goals:

• Address the shame that is often associated with compulsive pornography use.

• Assist members in identifying, understanding, and improving distorted thinking.

• Provide members with skills for handling triggers.

• Increase group members' sense of self-worth.

Cost: FREE

Other:

• This is a "closed" group. New participants may not join after the second session.

• Participants must be referred by their Bishop.

• Participants must have an identified support person outside of group.

• Those interested in participating will visit with their Group Leader via phone or Zoom to assess readiness for the group.

1st Step: Have your Bishop make the referral using the bishops portal or by contacting our office

3rd Step: If approved to attend, complete paperwork which will be emailed the week of 7/31/23
